Our Story

The history of Dinos sponge center dates back to the 1939.

Kyriakos, our grandfather, opened the first sponge center on Symi Island. Our father, Dinos, worked alongside him and eventually took over the business. Over the years, he continuously sought to innovate and modernize the shop.

We are proud to represent the third generation of the family.

Our father introduced us to the fascinating world of sponges. Along with his deep knowledge of the trade, he passed on to us his passion and dedication for this unique craft. Three generations later, we continue the family tradition, processing sponges using the same traditional methods, while maintaining the highest standards and sharing this heritage with the world.
